Cisco / Tullibee
Cisco, also known as tullibee or lake herring, are a member of the whitefish family and are commonly caught in the Hecla and Grindstone area. Available fresh frozen in sizes up to 12 inches.
Spot Tails
Caught in northern Manitoba, spot tail minnows are available salted and unsalted and come fresh frozen in six-ounce tubs.
Mudminnows
Mudminnows are a staple food source for predators in Lake Winnipeg. They are a hardy species and are well known throughout North America.

Mullet have a broad head when viewed from above and a narrower profile when viewed from the side.

Pickerel and Fresh Fish
Pickerel Fillets
Pickerel, also known as walleye, has a sweet, mild flavour and is a great choice for a fish without a strong fishy taste. Pickerel can be pan-fried or deep-fried with crispy breading or batter, baked, or cooked on the barbecue. Available in regular, baby, and large fillets, with the Y-bone removed. Our region is known for its famous Greenbacks.
Pickerel Cheeks
Pickerel cheeks can be seasoned with salt and fresh cracked pepper and browned in a pan for one to two minutes on each side. Fresh herbs can be added if desired.
Pickerel Wings
Pickerel wings can also be eaten. When deep-fried, they have a crispy texture similar to fish-flavoured potato chips.
Smoked Goldeye
Smoked goldeye can be enjoyed on its own after cooling to room temperature. The meat can also be flaked and used to make patties or other dishes.
Smoked Catfish
Flaked smoked catfish can be added to soups and stews, or used in rice and pasta dishes.
Whitefish
Lake whitefish has a delicate, mild flavour and a medium-firm texture with a large flake. It is a good choice for people who prefer a lighter-tasting fish. Available as oven-ready portions and fillets with the Y-bone removed.
